NovaCare Medical Center needed a centralized platform to replace disconnected systems for patient communication, appointment handling, and administrative tasks — giving patients, doctors, and hospital staff each a dedicated, role-appropriate experience.

Challenges
What made this project difficult.
Patients, doctors, and administrators each needed a completely different experience from the same underlying data, without duplicating logic across three separate apps.
A role-based authentication system with dedicated patient, doctor, and admin workflows, built on a shared Node.js and Express backend.
Appointment requests needed to flow smoothly from patient booking through doctor approval to admin oversight, without appointments getting lost or double-booked.
A centralized appointment management system letting doctors approve or reschedule requests directly, with admins able to assign doctors and track status hospital-wide.
Hospital staff needed to onboard new doctors and departments without developer involvement every time the organization changed.
